Sunday Times – Business 18 Jan 2009 Cooper Software doubles profitsThe Dunfermline-based company had a record year after taking part in a Scottish Enterprise programme A Scottish software company has almost doubled its profits after adopting a new programme aimed at improving its sales techniques. Cooper Software is one of the pioneers of a new commercialisation service from Scottish Enterprise. The company, which is based in Dunfermline and counts Bristow Helicopters among its customers, is one of 10 Scottish businesses to participate in the Commercial Breakthrough Service (CBS) pilot programme. Cooper Software, which recorded an operating profit of £495,000 last year, says it is on target to double revenue in 2009. Revenues have grown from £190,000 in 2006 to £890,000 last year. CBS gives companies 12 months of expert support. “The programme made a huge difference,” said Frank Cooper, managing director of Cooper Software. “It allowed us to accelerate our growth even at a time when the economy is difficult.” |
