| 12 Jun 2009: CBS Pilot Success Generates 260% Revenue Growth For Scottish Businesses |
|
Planys is re-appointed as a Commercial Breakthrough Service (CBS) provider by Scottish Enterprise following the successful delivery of a pilot programme that secured a 260% average revenue increase for 10 Scottish Businesses. The CBS program is a follow on from the 'Breakthrough Barriers' program, developed by Planys in collaboration with SE and collectively these programes have helped Scottish Businesses secure £millions of additional sales revenue and set them on the path to sustainable growth. The Commercial Breakthrough Service is a follow on from Plany's collaboration with SE on the theme of generating commercial breakthrough events as a means of leading businesses to sustainable growth. The first program 'Breakthrough Barriers' ran in Fife where the seed for the Commercial Breakthrough Service was planted when Planys secured a £1.5M deal for a Fife bases mobile software business. Since then over 27 businesses have participated in these services and have benefited from improved sales propositions, more effective commercial models, qualified sales pipelines and secure contracts. At the heart of the CBS is an intensive business diagnostic which identifies and maps out key commercial activities and sales targets over a 12 month period. Thereafter, Planys stay with the company to help them deliver those targets and improve their commercial capabilities. The CBS pilot is an unprecedented success that proves that hands-on commercial support works for companies in the growth pipeline. The benefits for emerging companies are enormous and can be measured in direct sales results, even during tough economic times. In addition, businesses participating in CBS benefit from a transformational improvement in their commercial capabilities through highly relevant on-the-job training that classroom-based, one-to-many courses can barely hint at. Clearly, we are delighted with the results which are all the more remarkable given that the recession bit hard in the middle of the pilot. Huge credit has to go to the companies that participated in the pilot and we would like to thank all of them for their hard work and the sustained effort that made these fantastic results possible. | "Giltech is an established company but had never focused on sales and marketing. Working with Planys, we were required to define what we were really about, the key messages we needed to convey to prospective customers and how best to engage with these customers. It wasn’t an easy process but Planys provided a framework and experienced support to enable us to push through the difficult discussions to a clear route forward. The result was some excellent collateral, a clear and easy-to-navigate website and a more structured approach to customer engagement."
